Don’t Have MTC Competency Evidence?

If you told us during our initial conversation that you don’t currently have a MTC (Minimum Technical Competency) Card or NVQ in fenestration, we will start you on the path to achieving this during our application journey.

FENSA assesses MTC using Route 3 of the Mandatory Technical Competency framework set by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG)

An MTC competency assessment consists of two (2) parts

Part 1 – Online Knowledge Assessment

This is a multiple-choice assessment done in your own time and requires a 75% pass mark. Select the relevant online competency assessment below and use the Access code given to you by FENSA.  Without a code, you will not be able to access the assessment.  You have 4 attempts to pass so no need to panic. Pick a nice quiet area with minimal distractions and take your time.

Part 2 – On-Site Assessment

This is done at the same time as your FENSA Application Assessment and can be booked once we receive a pass mark from your online assessment.  For this assessment, our assessor will need to witness your competent person remove and replace a window or door.

Both part 1 and part 2 forms part of your FENSA Skills Card requirements which will be the individual’s competency card to keep.

What Can You Expect AFTER The Application Assessment

  • FENSA will follow up with you to request any supporting documents not provided at the assessment.
