FENSA Installation of the year

FENSA Approved Installers are automatically entered into the FENSA Installation of the Year competition when they pass a post-assessment at no cost and without having to do anything extra

Why?

FENSA recognises the good work that Approved Installers do. In an ongoing effort to inspire everyday excellence among FENSA installers, we created the FENSA Installation of the Year award to recognise the value of combining technical expertise with exemplary customer care. Its that simple!

How does it work?

Homeowners are being invited to provide customer satisfaction feedback on FENSAs post-assessments. If the assessment passes for Building Regulations compliance the installation is automatically entered. FENSA Approved Installers do not need to do anything, it does not cost them and they could win the FENSA Trophy!

For an installation to be valid for automatic entry, it must pass the following criteria:

  1. A valid FENSA notifiable installation
  2. Must pass post-assessment (by RISA) the first time
  3. Homeowner interviewed and has answered the customer care questions
  4. Comply with the Terms and Conditions of the competition

Homeowners are asked to feedback their customer service experience about their FENSA Approved Installer in the following areas that are rated on a scale of 1 5 (1 being poor, 5 being exemplary)

  1. Was the sales process positive
  2. Do the product(s) installed match your expectation
  3. How did the installer treat your home?
  4. Was the work completed to your satisfaction
  5. Would you recommend the company to your friends & family

What if you're a winner?

Finalists will be notified during the autumn. They will receive free publicity, an award certificate and use of an exclusive FENSA Installation of the Year logo for marketing purposes.

The overall winner also takes home the FENSA Trophy and receives complimentary accommodation, travel and tickets to London for the awards presentation.

What to check before appointing an installer

Check that you use a FENSA Approved Installer but also check the following:

  • Ask family and friends who have used installers about their satisfaction and whether they got a FENSA certificate.
  • Check the installer's references by talking to their previous customers.
  • Get at least three quotes and check you are being quoted like for like.
  • Cheapest is not always best and good contractors are always in demand.
  • Get quotes, timeframes and the fact that you will get a FENSA certificate all in writing. A proper written contract with an agreed completion date will help prevent confusion later on
  • Check the warranty on the installer's work and ensure they have enough insurance to cover their warranty. Domestic glazing installers that are registered with a competent person scheme like FENSA are legally obliged to provide warranty insurance to cover your installation should the company cease to trade within the life of the warranty.
